Bethel New Life Community Outreach Church

Sr. Pastor Sidney I. Walters, affectionately known as “Big Sid”, is a native of Newark, NJ; he is married to the love of his life, Sr. Pastor Sesanie Harp-Walters to whom he refers to as the” butter on his toast and the milk in his coffee”. Pastor Sid is the father of three sons Tyree, Samir and the late Ty’Rell Harp and the grandfather of two grandsons Jadyn and Ethan. Pastor Sid was raised in the admonition of the Lord, and lost his way as a young adult and he recommitted himself to the Lord in 1993 and grew to be a strong leader among his peers filled with” fire, passion and motivation”. Pastor Sid served under the leadership of Sr. Pastor’s Reginald and Marian Osborne of Bethel Worldwide Outreach Ministries, Inc. in Newark, NJ in the capacity of Evangelist and Associate Pastor for over 20 years until their retirement; where he was ordained as Pastor and is now a founding member of Bethel New Life Community Outreach Church, Inc. where he and his wife Sesanie are the Sr. Pastors.

 

Education: Sr. Pastor Sid Walters attended American University of Biblical Studies and obtained a Bachelors of Art Degree in Biblical Studies. In addition he attended Rutgers University and majored in Criminal Justice with a minor in African American Studies.  Pastor Sid holds a Bachelors of Art degree in Divinity, from the American University of Biblical Studies and holds numerous national and state certifications.

 

Employment: Pastor Sid has been employed in the human services field for over 20 years and is currently employed as a Substance Abuse Counselor. Pastor Sid is esteemed highly throughout the state of NJ for his tremendous success in the referral and placement of individuals in detoxification and rehabilitation programs throughout New Jersey, New York and Florida. He has been recognized for his steadfast work with the prison re-entry population, for his role as an outstanding outreach worker and has received numerous awards and citations for his many contributions by municipal and county government. He is a successful businessperson and the founder of Strength in Determination (SID), a transitional recovery housing program for men and co-founder/owner of the Angel Hope House residential program for women, both located in Newark, NJ.

God has given Pastor Sid renowned influence, and as such he has been able to touch many lives. With all his accomplishments he remains humble and testifies that he is saved by “God’s Grace and Mercy”.  Pastor Sid has dedicated his life to helping hurting people, especially those suffering from the disease of addiction and bringing them to Christ. The Lord has given Sr. Pastors Sidney and Sesanie Walters a vision to lead the people of God to new dimensions in Christ. This dynamic duo is committed to bringing souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ “by reaching up, reaching out and reaching in to the community”; thereby seeing the manifestation of “Miracles, Signs, and Wonders in their lives”.
